Sessions that survive disconnects (tmux)
Normally, closing a tab or losing your connection stops whatever was running in that terminal. With a persistent session, it keeps running on the server and you pick up exactly where you left off.
- Open the server's settings and expand Advanced.
- Tick Persistent session (tmux) — reattach to the same session if disconnected.
- Save.
Each time you open that saved server, FusionTerm attaches to the same tmux session on it — your long-running jobs, editors and logs are still there. A tmux badge marks it in the list.
Requirements
The server needs tmux installed (apt install tmux, dnf install tmux, brew install tmux…). If it isn't, FusionTerm quietly opens a normal shell instead.
Tips
- Two tabs on the same saved server share one tmux session — they show the same screen.
- To end it for good, type
exitin every tmux window (ortmux kill-session). - Persistent sessions are a good partner for idle timeouts: the tab can close, the work carries on.
