Move FusionTerm to a new server
Everything FusionTerm knows lives in its data volume, so moving is: back up the volume, copy the file, restore it on the new machine.
- On the old server, make a full backup (see Updates and backups) and stop FusionTerm:
docker run --rm -v fusionterm-data:/data -v "$PWD":/backup alpine tar czf /backup/fusionterm-data.tgz -C /data . docker stop fusionterm - Copy
fusionterm-data.tgzto the new server (for example withscp). - On the new server, restore it into a fresh volume:
docker volume create fusionterm-data docker run --rm -v fusionterm-data:/data -v "$PWD":/backup alpine tar xzf /backup/fusionterm-data.tgz -C /data - Start FusionTerm there with your usual command (Install).
- If the address changed, update Settings → Connect a phone → Public address and, if you use it, the redirect URI in your single sign-on provider.
Users, saved servers, the vault, shared connections and trusted host keys all come across. Everyone signs in again on the new address.
Important: a license bound to an installation ID stays valid — the ID is stored in the volume and moves with it.
