Themes, fonts and cursor
Theme
Pick a theme at the bottom of Settings → Appearance:
- Graphite (dark, the default)
- Daylight (light)
- Nord
- Dracula
- Hacker / CRT
By default the terminal follows the app theme and stays dark, so colours in command output always read well. You can pick a different terminal colour scheme below — including light ones.
Terminal appearance
Settings → Terminal appearance:
- Font — included with FusionTerm (they work offline and look the same everywhere): JetBrains Mono (default), Fira Code, Cascadia Code, IBM Plex Mono, Source Code Pro, Ubuntu Mono, Inconsolata, Monaspace Neon, or your system's monospace font. Under Installed on this computer you can also pick Menlo, SF Mono, Consolas, DejaVu Sans Mono or Hack; if that font isn't installed on the computer you're using, the list says "not found" and the terminal uses the system monospace font there instead.
- Size (10–24 px or automatic), Weight (Light, Regular, Medium — where the font has them), Line spacing and Letter spacing.
- Cursor — block █, bar ▏ or underline _, and whether it blinks.
- Colour scheme — Follow app theme, FusionTerm Dark, FusionTerm Light, Dracula-inspired, Nord-inspired, Monokai-inspired, Solarized Dark, Solarized Light, High contrast or Green on dark.
- Colours — override the background, text, cursor and selection colours. Use scheme colour removes an override. If text and background get too close (below 4.5:1 contrast), a warning tells you before you save.
- Scrollback — how many lines each terminal keeps (1,000 to 50,000).
The preview shows your changes — coloured output, bold and italic, box-drawing characters and accented letters — before you Save. Saving restyles open terminals straight away without disconnecting them. Undo changes goes back to what's saved; Reset to defaults puts this page's options back to the defaults (press Save to keep that). Neither touches your idle timeout, connections or any security setting.
Programming ligatures are not available: the terminal draws each character in its own cell, so => and != stay as typed.
Your theme and terminal appearance are saved to your account — the same on every computer and phone you sign in from.
