Keyboard shortcuts
FusionTerm has keyboard shortcuts for the things you do most, and you can add your own.
Your own shortcuts
Settings → Keyboard shortcuts → + Add shortcut:
- Choose what it does: Connect to a saved server, Open files on a server, Open workspace or Run snippet.
- Choose which server, workspace or snippet.
- Click the key box and press the combination you want — it must include Ctrl/⌘ or Alt (for example Alt+Shift+1). FusionTerm tells you straight away if another shortcut already uses it.
- Click Add shortcut.
Click a shortcut's keys to change them, or the bin to delete it. If the server, workspace or snippet is deleted later, the shortcut is shown crossed out and does nothing.
Built-in shortcuts
Change any of them in the same page: click a shortcut, then press the keys you want. Reset built-in shortcuts puts them back (your own shortcuts are kept).
| Action | Default |
|---|---|
| Go to (quick switcher — any server, open tab or action) | Ctrl+K (⌘K on Mac) |
| New session | Alt+Shift+N |
| Close the current tab | Alt+Shift+W |
| Next tab / previous tab | Alt+Shift+→ / Alt+Shift+← |
| Split the current tab | Alt+Shift+D |
| Find in the terminal | Ctrl+Shift+F (⌘⇧F on Mac) |
| Files (SFTP) for the current tab | Alt+Shift+F |
| Broadcast input to all SSH tabs | Alt+Shift+M |
| Show / hide the sidebar | Alt+Shift+B |
| Focus mode | Ctrl+. (⌘. on Mac) |
| Search the vault | Alt+Shift+V |
| Reconnect a disconnected tab | R |
| Cancel a reconnect in progress | Esc |
Shortcuts that work everywhere need Ctrl/⌘ or Alt, so they never get in the way of typing in a terminal. R and Esc only act on a disconnected tab.
Your shortcuts — built-in and your own — are saved to your account, so they're the same on every computer you sign in from.
